Two Smiles

by crobertson

Out in the cold, as the wintry wind blows;
Bundled with love, as we go;
Long sleeves, pants, socks, hat, mittens, two blankets.

On to our destination, I talk to you and laugh;
Almost there I hear nothing…silence, I think my boy is sound asleep;
Turn here, turn there, stop, shift to park, what do I see?

Eyes wide open, a smirk through that passie;
Missing, mittens, socks, two blankets;
The passie comes out, two smiles meet. I love you.
