Shades of White

Thinking about my morning,
not knowing,
Beep…Beep…
it’s 6am. Too early,
I think.
Beep…Beep…
it’s 6:10am. Too early,
I think.
Beep…Beep…
it’s 6:30am. What!
Covers thrown,
jolt,
peek,
eyes widen, “rush.”
Get him up,
have to say goodbye, “rush.”
I ignore,
spend minutes, “rush.”
not as bad as I thought.
Leave homes,
approach trees, so beautiful!, “rush.”
I ignore.
Details,
be,
in the moment,
Snow draped on trees,
pure white.
Heavy,
limbs broken.
Slowly I drive.
The ground,
graduates,
pure white-white-beige-taupe-gray.
Horizon of trees,
branches towering.
The sky,
white.
I think,
paint samples.
Shades of white,
I see,
now I see.
